Marco has 30 years of experience as a nurse in the hospital, of which 10 years as a ventilation practitioner. As a ventilation practitioner, his task were diverse and included the entire ventilation package. His tasks ranged from giving training to colleagues, doctors and other specialists to set up the ventilator, purchasing disposables, etc. He also developed weaning schedules, sedation schedules and ventilation strategies. In addition, he provides training on “physiology for artificial respiration” and “difficult airways” at the MUMC + Maastricht for, among others, student IC / A&E / recovery nurses and he contributes to SCOPE, a refresher course for certified ICU nurses.
