The workgroup of Prof. Enk showed in severe hypoxic pigs quickly restored oxygenation after ventilation with Expiratory Ventilation Assistance (EVA) in cases of a completely or partially obstructed upper airway. Reoxygenation and ventilation were less efficient when the upper airway was completely unobstructed.
